Fr. John Kitchen, CSSp.

Fr. John is from Chorley. He was ordained in 1972 and went out on mission to Sierra Leone. Later he was appointed to Pakistan where one of his great missionary experiences was to be a member of the Spiritans’ pioneering pastoral outreach to (and presence) among the indigenous people in the Punjab region of Pakistan, a people on the margins of society. This awakened his desire, love and capacity to champion the cause of the marginalised and the voiceless in that part of Asia.

On his return to the UK he went on to found the KAIROS Community Trust, caring for homeless people who have a dependency on drugs and alcohol. The Trust provides support and help for them to recover and regain their places as valued citizens in society.

John lives in Bickley and continues his ministry to the poor, the homeless and drug addicts.
