We Spiritans of the English Province of the Holy Ghost Fathers undertake to be ever more attentive to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

We undertake to be witness to the Gospel in an ever-changing world.

We strive especially to serve those who are poor and marginalised by society, sensitive to their changing needs.

Our vision is to carry out our mission by fidelity to community life.

We desire a revitalisation of community. The process of sharing, community prayer, mutual support and trust, affirmation and dialogue are recognised as essential elements of community building.

While striving to achieve the ideal of openness we need to be sensitive to those who, for whatever reason, are unwilling to be open. They remain our brothers and sisters.

In faithfulness to the intuitions of our Founders, to their experiences and to the living traditions of our Congregation we give priority to those who have little or no experience of the Gospel. Among these are:

  • Youth
  • Homeless People
  • People with addiction to drugs and alcohol
  • Refugees and Migrants

These are the most disadvantaged in our society and belong to groups for whom the Church has difficulty in finding workers.

Mission "Ad Gentes" remains an important commitment of the English Province of the Holy Ghost Fathers.

We will achieve our mission by:

  • Witnessing to community life
  • Collaborative Ministry
  • Putting in place foundations that a work is not dependent on our continuing presence

We will give support to the new Provinces and Foundations of the Congregation of the Holy Ghost.
